Electric guitar wiring

Standard guitar wiring
Alternative guitar wiring

The typical value for C1 is 0.047 mf or microfarads. Alternative values are 0.02 mf and0 .01 mf. The smaller the value of C1, the higher the frequency roll off point.

Guitar wiring with treble bleed capacitor

The typical value for C2 is 0.001 mf. This capacitor has the effect of keeping the top end bright as you turn the volume down. This compensates for the dullness that seems to creep in as you turn down your guitat volume pot. If the sound is too thin then you can put a resistor of between 150k ohm and 300k ohm in parallel with C2. This will bring back some of the bass. The lower the value the more bass will come through.
